Moulding and production
Our moulding services
Injection moulding of plastic materials
Injection moulding is a production process that allows precise, high-performance components to be obtained, with considerable advantages in terms of numbers, cost optimisation and breadth of uses. It allows the use of a wide range of engineering polymers, from the simplest to the most advanced, making it possible to replace metal in numerous industrial applications.
We have specialised in this technology for over 35 years and have consolidated skills that enable us to tackle even the most complex design and production challenges. Thanks to the synergy between design and in-house mould construction, we produce tailor-made components for every technical requirement.
Complex geometries
We design and mould components with articulated shapes and advanced technical details. Thanks to our experience, the use of simulation software and our in-house made moulds, we are able to handle any design, guaranteeing repeatability and freedom from defects even in large-scale production.
High volumes
Injection moulding enables the production of thousands of parts with consistent characteristics, optimising time and cost per unit. Thanks to our automated machine park, we handle multi-shift serial production, guaranteeing continuity, dimensional stability and quality control, even for components with tight tolerances and zero-defect requirements.
Material transversality
Our in-depth knowledge of raw materials and their performance allows us to recommend the most suitable polymer, also depending on the conditions of use and regulations required by the application sector. We process a wide range of engineering polymers, including high-profile technical materials such as PEEK, LCP, PPS/PPSU, carbon-filled PA6/12 and PVDF.
Horizontal injection moulding
We use horizontal injection moulding machines to produce small, medium and large plastic components. In this type of configuration, the clamping unit and injection unit are arranged horizontally, providing flexibility and efficiency to the process.
Overmoulding
Overmoulding is a vertical injection moulding technology that uses heat to inject plastic or rubber material into a mould containing a plastic, rubber, or metal part. The result is a solid and functional union between surfaces with different molecular structures, which adds aesthetic finishes, mechanical properties or specific functionality to the component, while optimising assembly time and steps.
Plastic on plastic
We overmould plastic elements onto pre-formed plastic bodies, even with different materials. An ideal way of working to create two-tone components, tactile interfaces or complex structures that integrate aesthetics and functionality in a single production cycle.
Rubber on plastic
We inject elastomers onto plastic elements to achieve specific sealing or cushioning properties. This technique is particularly suitable for making seals, grip areas or components with high IP requirements, reducing the use of separate couplings.
Plastic on metal
We use injection moulding of plastic or rubber on metal to exploit the performance characteristics of both materials. This application is ideal for technical components where structural strength, rigidity and accurate insulation are required.
Other techniques
In addition to injection moulding, we offer processes that make our service complete, from design to finishing. Thanks to know-how developed over more than thirty-five years, we integrate ancillary technologies and special processes that meet specific performance, aesthetic or assembly requirements. Each process is managed in-house, with the same attention to detail and quality that distinguishes us in the core stages of production.
Blow moulding of plastics
Blow moulding of plastics allows us to produce lightweight, resistant and customised cable components suitable for many application areas. We use selected polymers to ensure long durability, differentiating ourselves from the logic of single-use. This technology offers great design freedom, allowing us to develop complex shapes, design variables and different weight characteristics. It is a cost-effective process, also suitable for medium to large production runs, and stands out for its efficiency in terms of environmental sustainability.
Ultrasonic welding
It is recommended for thermoplastic materials that share the same chemical nature and is based on the application of high-frequency vibrations that, by generating heat, allow the fusion between different elements. The result is a homogenous and precise join, ideal for technical components that require robustness and repeatability.
Tampography
Indirect marking technique used to print technical data, lettering, or logos on the surfaces of parts. It allows sharp graphic details to be transferred onto plastic components and is the ideal solution for customising technical products, ensuring good legibility, wear resistance and functional integration in the production cycle.
Our machinery
We have developed a complete and diversified machine park to handle projects with very different technical, production and aesthetic requirements. We have more than 90 presses including horizontal, vertical and blow moulding presses, constantly monitored and configured according to materials, volumes and component complexity. The versatility of the technologies we have at our disposal and the field experience of our people allow us to reliably produce both small customised batches and highly automated serial productions.
Horizontal presses
Extremely versatile, they are used for most plastic moulding processes. We also have twin-cylinder presses.
Vertical presses
They are particularly suitable for the overmoulding of plastic on metal, either by operator monitoring or automated.
Blow moulding presses
We also use the polymer blowing technique when the production of non-disposable but long-lasting products is required.
An investment
for the future
Thanks to the support of the Regional Program FESR 2021-2027, Akron has launched a major business development project. The modernization of the machinery fleet with new automated, energy-efficient injection molding machines marks a concrete step toward more innovative, flexible, and sustainable production.
